Halfling Races

Halflings are clever, capable opportunists. Halfling individuals and clans find room for tehmselves wheerver they can. Often they are strangers and wenderers, and others react to tem with suspicious or curiosity. Depending on the clan, halflings might be reliable, hard-working citizens, or they might be thieves just waiting for te opportunity to make a big score and disappear in te dead of night. Regardless, halflings are cunning, resourceful survivors.

Description:
Halflings stand abut 3 feet tall and usually weigh between 30 and 35 pounds. Their skin is ruddy, and their hair is black and straight. They have brown or black eyes. Halfling men often have long sideburns, but beards are rare among them and mustaches are almost unseen.

Sub-races:

Lightfoot halflings: They are being athletic and ambitious opportunists, although they retain their love of comfort and family. They differ visually from the stereotypical depiction of halfings; rather than having the thicker proportions normally associated with halfings or hobbits, they are slender and graceful in appearance, resembling a human gymnast in miniature.
Stout halflings: Shorter but broader than hairfoot halflings, stouts make good craftsmen.

Lightfoot Halfling:
The LightFoot Halflings are the most common of the halfling sub-races, primarily because the lightfoot halflings are the most numerous and widelky traveled of all halflings. Nearly every human community has at least a few lightfoot halglig residents.
Halflings stand abut 3 feet tall and usually weigh between 30 and 35 pounds. Their skin is ruddy, and their hair is black and straight. They have brown or black eyes. Halfling men often have long sideburns, but beards are rare among them and mustaches are almost unseen.
Brandobaris, the Master of Strealth, is much beloved by Lightfoot Halflings for his realistic and good-humored view of live.

Ability Changes: +2 Dexterity, -2 Strength

Small Lightfoot Halflings are smaller than their cousins and gain a +1 on Defense.

Weapon Familiarity: Lightfoot halflings prefer the lightfoot-warsling (a sling variant).

Automatic Languages: Common, Halfling.
Special Languages: Dwarven, Elven, Gnome, Goblin and Orc.

Stout Halfling:
The Stout Halflings can trace their ancestry back to the same long-lost days as the other sub-races. but unlike their cousins, the Stout halflings elected to remain in thier homeland, though some do decide to venture away from the homeland into the unknown regions of humankind.
The Stout halflings stand abut 3 feet tall and usually weigh between 30 and 35 pounds. Their skin is ruddy, and their hair is black and straight. They have brown or black eyes. Stout Halfling men often have long sideburns, but beards are rare among them and mustaches are almost unseen.
The Stout Halflings do not favor any deities and they activelely discourage halflings from venerate the gods and goddess of other races.
